The Texas Longhorns currently sit at seventh overall in team recruiting rankings, according to on3 team rankings. However, Steve Sarkisian is looking to add to this class. The 2023 Texas Longhorns commits are doing all they can to recruit others to join them as well.
We mentioned on Sunday that Texas will get one more official visit from the five-star recruit and number one tight end in the 2023 class, Duce Robinson. You can find that here.
Aside from Robinson, the 2023 current Texas commits are looking to add even more talent. This group is very vocal on social media. Consistently trying to build up this already great class.
Johnny Cook, Payton Kirkland, Derion Gullette, and most importantly, Arch Manning are the commits leading the charge. Arch Manning was also photographed talking to current Oklahoma Sooners commit Colton Vasek this past weekend when they were on a visit to Austin.
Aside from four-star edge defender Colton Vasek, Texas is also looking to flip current four-star wide receiver and Notre Dame commit Jaden Greathouse. As well as four-star athlete Jelani McDonald, who is currently committed to Oklahoma State.
Flipping any of these recruits would be a massive win for Texas and Steve Sarkisian. This recruiting class has been in a bit of a stand-still since August. Flipping a star edge defender from Oklahoma would feel pretty good. Almost as good as beating them 49-0, almost.
